1. Publisher

Calcuralab is a free website intended to support studying. It is published by Atte Mäkinen. Contact: attm7358@gmail.com.

2. Copyright

The content of the site, such as the texts, explanations, exercises, simulators, design, logo and program code, is protected by copyright.

Permitted use

You may use the site normally in a browser, including for studying and to support teaching, and install it as an app on your device.
You may link to the site freely.
You may quote the site’s texts in accordance with section 22 of the Finnish Copyright Act (404/1961), in accordance with good practice and with the source stated.

Use that requires permission

Copying, modifying, distributing and making the site or parts of it available to the public (for example, publishing it on your own website or as your own app), and commercial use, require the publisher’s written permission. You can ask for permission at attm7358@gmail.com.

Text and data mining

The publisher reserves the right to prevent the use of the site’s content for text and data mining, including for training AI models, in accordance with Article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790 on copyright in the Digital Single Market.

3. Third-party materials

The site’s fonts are licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. They are served from the site’s own server, and the license texts are included:

4. Accuracy of the content and liability

The site is intended to support learning. Its formulas, simulators and exercise solutions have been made with care, but their correctness or fitness for a particular purpose cannot be guaranteed. Do not use the site as the only source, for example, for sizing electrical equipment or for other decisions that affect safety.

The site is provided as is. The publisher is not liable for damage caused by using the site, by errors or by interruptions in service beyond what mandatory law requires. This does not limit the mandatory rights of consumers.

5. Accessibility

Our aim is that as many people as possible can use the site in their own way. The site works on phones, tablets and computers, has a light and a dark theme, uses the Atkinson Hyperlegible Next font, which was designed for legibility, and its menus and functions are designed to be usable with a keyboard as well.

The accessibility of the site has not been assessed in an external audit, and it cannot be guaranteed that every part of it meets the requirements of WCAG 2.2 level AA. The graphs and simulators are mainly visual, and their content may not be fully usable with a screen reader. The intermediate steps of calculations and the explanations are also written out as text.

6. Privacy

The processing of personal data and of data stored in your browser is described in the privacy policy.

7. Governing law

These terms and the use of the site are governed by Finnish law. This does not limit a consumer’s right to rely on the mandatory consumer protection rules of their country of residence.

We may update these terms, for example when the site or legislation changes. The current version is always on this page, and the update date is shown at the top.
